Gurkha Parade

Brecon Town Council hosts an annual event whereby the Gurkha Wing (Mandalay) exercises its right under an Honorary Citizenship to parade through the Town.

This is a colourful and memorable occasion and everyone is welcome to attend the parade and watch the cultural performances that follow.

On Sunday, 7th June 2026, the Gurkha Wing (Mandalay) of Brecon accompanied by the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas exercise their rights as Honorary Citizens of Brecon. 
Everyone is welcome to attend. 2:30pm, The Bulwark.

The Best Of Brecon Awards 2026 will celebrate the work of volunteers and community groups in Brecon. This year’s event will be held on Thursday 2 July at the Guildhall. 

 The categories are:

  • Young Volunteer award
  • Volunteer of the year award
  • Award for Voluntary Group or Team of the year
  • Personal Achievement award
  • Community Business award
  • Mayor’s award for outstanding contribution
  • Making a Positive Environmental Difference award
  • Sport, Wellbeing and Health award
  • Charitable Fundraising award
