The Guildhall as a Wedding Venue

Weddings and Civil Partnerships

The Chamber at The Guildhall Brecon is a Grade II listed building built in 1624 and redesigned and renovated during the reign of Queen Victoria. It is one of the finest public rooms in Breconshire.

It is rich in history and tradition and deeply rooted in the town’s cultural heritage. The double door entrance and reception rooms epitomise Victorian elegance and the sweeping staircase offers perfect photographic opportunities.

Weddings and Civil Partnerships may be held at the Guildhall on any day apart from Bank Holidays. There is an additional charge for weddings held on Saturday and Sunday.

Without the presence of the Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar there cannot be a marriage, please contact the Powys Registration Service to ensure the registrar is able to conduct your wedding/civil partnership on your chosen day.

Only civil non religious ceremonies are permitted by the Superintendent Registrar. Any music, reading, words or performance which forms part of the ceremony must be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar.
