Grass Cutting – 2026 Season

Brecon Town Council are now inviting quotations for grass cutting in the 2026 season at the following four sites in Brecon:

  1. Llanfaes Park (LD3 8EB) grass cutting for the football field, skate park and play area. Note there is a small area to the side of the play area that has been planted as a wildflower meadow which will not be cut until late in the season, but will need cutting back as long grass at the end of the summer, and the cuttings removed, and then to be cut until the end of the season as necessary.
  2. Camden Road Park (LD3 7RT) grass cutting.
  3. Beacons Park grass cutting only. Note this is a grassed area within the estate and not the play area/field as you enter Pontwillim.
  4. Promenade, Brecon – area as shown edged red on attached plan. The area is approximately 35000m square and also requires strimming around benches, fence lines, trees, bandstand etc, and to cut boundary hedge (both sides and top).

Historically the grass has been cut March to October, and includes weekly cuts during June, July and August and outside of these months, as required. Please price on this basis, but as a guideline the number of cuts required are likely to be as follows:

  • Llanfaes – 22 cuts
  • Camden Road – 11 cuts
  • Beacons Park – 20 cuts
  • Promenade – 22 cuts

However, this is only indicative and we require the grass to be cut as required to keep it to a tidy level, and to allow the cuttings to be left and not cause difficulties/mess for the users of the facilities.

No weed spraying/control is required.

Please itemise the quotation separately for each site.

Please note, Brecon Town Council is a Living Wage Accredited organisation and as such contracts entered into need to provide that all directly employed and third party contracted and sub contracted staff that work regularly on our premises are paid a minimum of the Living Wage Foundation Rate or above (currently £12.60 per hour, to increase to £13.45 per hour from 1/4/26). Please therefore ensure that the quote provided confirms this.

With the quotation please return the completed attached contractors questionnaire and provide copies of your relevant accreditation, risk assessment and method statements and your insurance schedule.  The quotations will be considered in the first week of January and if you wish for your quote to be considered I should be grateful to receive it before the deadline of 19th December 2025 please.
